Do you wake up feeling tired? Has someone been telling you that you snore at night? Or maybe you have a really dry mouth when you wake up in the morning? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, it may be a sign that you are struggling with sleep apnea.
Today we are sharing a video that depicts what happens in your throat when you have sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea, and that’s when your throat muscles relax too much, resulting in your airway closing up. Basically, you stop getting enough air! When this happens, your brain will wake you up so your air passages can open up again. Unfortunately, that’s not letting you stay in a restful sleep for very long, since it can happen about 30 times a night.
If you believe you might be dealing with sleep apnea, we have partnered with the American Sleep Apnea Association that can confirm the diagnosis. Then we can create a custom-fit oral appliance that keeps your airways open while you sleep that will let you sleep peacefully at night.
